According to RH Edniel Parrosa's report, the Philippine Navy confirmed that it had already assigned the 9th Marine Brigade to investigate Alvarez's statement.
Col. Alvarez is a reservist in the Philippine Marine Corps and is in the Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) Program.
In a press briefing in Camp Aguinaldo on Tuesday, the AFP said if the investigation resulted in some violations, Alvarez could be kicked out of the organization.
The Philippine Navy stressed that they are following the rule of law in connection with their duty as guardians of the sea.
It can be recalled when Alvarez apologized for calling the AFP to withdraw their support for Marcos and for him to step down from his post.
His statement was made following Marcos' policies in the West Philippine Sea, which, according to him, are bringing possible war against China.
