Two people suffered injuries after a Cessna 172 aircraft crashed into the waters of Brgy. Canaoay, San Fernando, La Union, on Tuesday, May 21.
According to RH Sherwin Alfaro's report, the passengers of the four-seater Cessna plane with the body number RP-C6923 include a pilot and a trainee.
Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said the aircraft immediately called San Fernando Tower in San Fernando Airport and declared an emergency shortly after taking off at 8:23 a.m.
A few minutes later, the plane crashed into the water.
“Two passengers on board were rescued with reported minor injuries and were rushed to the hospital,” the aviation authority said.
Minor injuries were sustained by the passengers.
The CAAP investigates the cause of the plane's crash.
