The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) has been tasked with conducting a case build-up to identify the individuals and personalities who may have harbored the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy.
The investigation is in accordance with the order of PNP Chief PGen. Rommel Francisco Marbil. A special investigation team has been formed and will be led by the Deputy Director for Operations of the CIDG.
Leo Francisco said during an exclusive interview with DZRH for Damdaming Bayan on Monday.
"Nasa case build up pa lang ang CIDG at ito ay patuloy na nagkakalap pa ng ebidensya," he added.
The PNP-CIDG aims to charge those who harbored Quiboloy with obstruction of justice, as it is a serious offense. This charge targets individuals who assisted Quiboloy in evading law enforcement operations and hiding from authorities.
According to Francisco, they have not yet determined the exact number of individuals who are alleged to have harbored Quiboloy.
Furthermore, the investigation team is scrutinizing social media postings to identify KOJC members who obstructed police efforts, and these individuals could potentially be charged with obstruction of justice.
The self-proclaimed ‘appointed son of God’ fell into the hands of authorities on September 9, following weeks of manhunt operation at the KOJC compound in Davao City to serve the arrest warrant.
