The Philippine National Police (PNP) launched an investigation on the management of Century Peak Towers in Manila to determine any potential accountability regarding the alleged scam hub raided on its premises.
PNP Spokesperson PBGen. Jean Fajardo stated that the permit of Vertex Digital Entertainment Technologies Inc. had already been revoked as of November 2023.
She further stated that Century Peak Tower bears a significant responsibility, as despite the cancellation, the alleged illegal operations within the building continued.
Fajardo explained that the confiscated items from the raid are now undergoing forensic examination, and there are indications that they were used in love scams and cryptocurrency scams.
“Titignan natin [kung] mayroon bang due diligence na inexert ang management ni Century Peak, how come na hindi nila natunugan na may mga illegal activities na nangyayari dyan sa kanilang building," Fajardo said in an exclusive interview with DZRH's Dos Por Dos on Thursday.
Earlier, DZRH News interviewed three former employees of the alleged scam hub in the building, where they revealed that multiple floors of the facility were used for illegal activities.
They revealed that some floors were designated as dormitories for foreign nationals employed there, while others were used as office spaces.
In this regard, Fajardo assured that the PNP is committed to filing charges against those responsible for the scam hub at Century Peak Tower.
