The suspect who killed the graduating computer science student from the De La Salle University – Dasmariñas has been identified and arrested on Friday, March 31.
According to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Dasmariñas City, the suspect was identified as Angelito Erlano y Lacerna.
The t-shirt and shorts that Erlano wore when he robbed and murdered the victim Leanne Duguesin were recovered by the PNP-Dasma inside his home in Barangay Nicolas, Dasmariñas.
Also retrieved was the bag that is believed owned by the victim.
Meanwhile, the DLSU-Dasmariñas student government body has offered Php 50,000 as additional financial support for Duguesin's loved ones.
The whole community of the DLSU-Dasmariñas grieved and called for justice for the slain graduating student.
Duguesin was brutally killed inside her dormitory in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Tuesday, March 28. Her lifeless body without lower garments was found by the dorm's caretaker.
She sustained 14 stab wounds — 1 fatal at the neck, 9 in the body, and 4 in the left wrist but no signs of rape, autopsy reports showed.
