Pope Francis announced on Wednesday that Blessed Carlo Acutis will be canonized in April 2025, coinciding with the Jubilee for Adolescents celebration as part of the Catholic Holy Year in Rome.

He further stated during his weekly general audience at the Vatican that Acutis will be canonized as a saint over the weekend of April 25-27.

Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni later confirmed that Acutis' canonization will take place during the Church's Jubilee of Teenagers, scheduled for April 25–27, 2025.

However, the Vatican did not specify an exact date for the canonization ceremony.

Known as "God's Influencer" and set to become the first saint of the millennial generation, Acutis was an Italian teenager who used his computer skills to promote the Catholic faith.

He managed the websites for his parish and a Vatican-based academy.

Furthermore, he gained recognition for his strong devotion to the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

Acutis passed away from leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15. Before his death, he told his mother that he offered all his suffering to the Lord, for the Pope, and for the Church.

He was beatified in 2020, and Pope Francis has since urged young people to follow Acutis' example by prioritizing "the great gift of the Eucharist."

In a related announcement, the Pope revealed that Pier Giorgio Frassati, a young Italian renowned for his charitable efforts and dedication to helping those in need, will also be canonized.

Frassati, who died from polio in the 1920s, will be canonized as a saint during the weekend of July 28 to August 3.
