The weekly COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila has dropped from 19.9% to 14.6%, according to Dr.

Guido David, a fellow at OCTA Research.

This decline is expected to continue, with David predicting it to be less than 10% next week as cases continue to decrease.

"We expect this to decrease less than 10% next week as cases continue to decline," he said in his tweet.

Alongside this improvement, hospital bed occupancy in the region has also decreased from 28.8% to 25.5% during the same period.

On Wednesday, David shared data that revealed a lower positivity rate of 17.3% in Quezon City, a significant drop from the previous rate of 22.2%.

As a result, Quezon City is now classified as a low-risk area for COVID-19 transmission.

Furthermore, the nationwide positivity rate currently stands at 16.6 percent as of June 7, which is lower than the previous day's rate of 17.7%.

As per the Department of Health's COVID-19 tracker, the country's total caseload now stands at 4,151,079. Of this number, there are 12,385 active cases, 4,072,213 recoveries, and 66,481 deaths as of Wednesday, June 7.
