The Local Government of Quezon City (QC LGU) proposed an initiative called ‘Carless Sundays’ to be implemented in Tomas Morato Avenue.
On Saturday, the QC LGU announced on their Facebook page that a new ordinance, titled “Carless Day and Market Day,” is being proposed. This ordinance aims to regulate the use of Tomas Morato Avenue (from E. Rodriguez to Sct. Albano) by closing the street to vehicular traffic every Sunday from midnight to 11:59 p.m., with penalties for those who do not comply.
A 'Hybrid' Public Consultation will be held regarding the proposal by Quezon City Fourth District Councilor Irene Belmonte to make Tomas Morato Avenue "car-free" or "carless."
"Bukas ito sa publiko upang maibahagi ang inyong komento at rekomendasyon," the LGU announced on Saturday.
