Local oil companies have announced a price increase for oil cooking gas by more than PHP70 for a regular 11-kilogram cylinder this month.
In an advisory on Thursday, Petron said it will implement liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by P73.15 per 11-kilo cylinder.
The price of AutoLPG also increased by P3.70 per liter.
“These reflect the international contract price of LPG for the month of September,” Petron said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Solane-branded LPG also went up by PHP6.64 per kilogram effective 6 a.m. Friday.
This marks the second consecutive month that local oil firms implemented price increases for LPG. The price of the fuel per 11-kg cylinder rose by P50.05 in August.
Department of Energy said that the prevailing retail prices of LPG in Metro Manila range from P718 to P935 per tank.
Oil firms last cut the price of cooking gas in July by a mere P3.70 per kg or P40.7 per 11-kg cylinder.
