House Speaker Martin Romualdez has broken his silence and shrugged off the reported plan to unseat him from his post.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Romualdez said the "House of the People is in order", and that House members would rather focus "on more urgent matters" than getting involved in politics.

"The House cannot be distracted from finding legislative solutions to issues that affect the lives of ordinary Filipinos," he stressed.

According to the House Speaker, the lower house is presently working on the passage of the Marcos Administration's remaining priority bills.

"There is still much work to do, so occasional moves to destabilize the House should be nipped in the bud," Romualdez pointed out.

The House Speaker also underscored that the Uniteam of President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte remain intact.

He added that the team also chose to continue focusing on finding immediate solutions to issues like "low power supply, high electricity, telco issues, and unstable commodity prices instead of political destabilization."

"Ang mga tunay na problema ng karaniwang Pilipino ang dapat nating unahin, ang dapat nating paglaanan ng atensyon," Romualdez furthered.

Last week, reports about outsing plan against Romualdez surfaced and pointed to Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as the mastermind behind the coup.

Arroyo immediately refuted the rumors, saying that the Speakership is no longer part of her political objectives since Romualdez was elected by the 19th Congress.
