There have been 120 allegations of sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and rape made against American rapper and producer Sean “Diddy” Combs.
25 of the alleged victims are minors, the youngest of these having been only nine when sexually abused by Combs. Half of the total victim count are female, and the other are male, all from 25 different states in America.
The incidents go as far back as 1991 up to the present year, although most transpired following 2015, occurring in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. Most victims claimed they had been date-raped after parties thrown for an album release, New Year’s Eve, and Independence Day, while some were coerced during auditions.
“Many times, especially young people wanting to break into the industry, were coerced into this type of conduct in the promise of being made a star or the promise of having Sean Combs listen to their tape,” said Houston lawyer Tony Buzbee, who will be representing the plaintiffs in court.
Buzbee said victims were often given “laced” drinks prior to an assault, which has obviously become a modus operandi.
The lawyer vowed he and his team would “leave no stone unturned to find potentially liable parties” who benefited from the hip-hop mogul’s abuse. This was not a class action lawsuit but a string of individual cases per victim.
AVA Law Group Atty. Andrew Van Arsdale said his firm had gotten over 3,000 phone calls only from people coming forward with claims of being abused by Combs. Aside from the 120 victims, they are verifying 100 more cases.
