Senator JV Ejercito expressed his concern over the transfer and utilization of Philhealth’s reserve funds towards the unprogrammed budget of the national government.

In a press release on Tuesday, Ejercito as the author and sponsor of the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law emphasized the fulfillment of the goals and objectives laid out by the UHC Law.

While he understands that other government programs require monetary aid, the Senator said the allocated budget for healthcare must remain in the aforementioned department.

“Unahin po sana natin ang pagpapataas ng kalidad ng benepisyo at pagpapababa ng binabayarang kontribusyon ng ating mga mamamayan (We should prioritize increasing the quality of benefits and decreasing the amount of contribution for our citizens) ,” he stressed.
