Senator Ronald Dela Rosa confirmed he is not worried as the International Criminal Court (ICC) resumes its investigation on the 'war on drugs' in the Philippines.

The senator was the chief of the Philippine National Police during the Duterte administration when the anti-drug campaign intensified.

Dela Rosa and former president Rodrigo Duterte were accused of violating human rights for the 'drug war' and extra-judicial killing of victims.

"It is all up to the Philippine [government] if it will allow such inference into our internal affairs. Our [government, so far, has been consistent in denying them access to proceed investigation since our judicial system is functioning," the senator said.

when asked if he is worried, Dela Rosa quickly answered, “No, I am not.”

The ICC pre-trial chamber approved a probe into the Philippine drug war last September 2021. However, two months later, the investigation was suspended as Duterte assured them to look into the issue of the extra-judicial killings himself.

On Jan 26, 2023, ICC approved the request of Prosecutor Karim Khan to resume the investigation into the bloody war on drugs campaign.
