The Senate has ordered the suspension of work once again on Thursday, October 24, due to the effects of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
"In view of the latest PAGASA weather advisory forecasting moderate to heavy accumulated rainfall in Metro Manila due to Tropical Cyclone Kristine, Senate President Francis 'Chiz' G. Escudero has ordered the suspension of work at the Senate today, 24 October 2024," Senate Secretary Atty. Renato Bantug Jr. stated.
However, personnel assigned to receive copies of the General Appropriations Bill, which will be transmitted by the House of Representatives to the Senate later today, are required to report for work.
Additionally, personnel of the OSAA and the MGSB who follow a shifting schedule are not covered by the work suspension.
On Wednesday, the Senate also suspended work but allowed scheduled hearings, such as the ongoing investigation into Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, to proceed.
