Shiela Guo, who has been reported as the sister of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, revealed to a Senate panel that they are not biologically related and admitted that she was born in China, not in the Philippines.
“Hindi kayo related? I mean hindi kayo tunay na magkapatid? Hindi kayo biological na magkapatid?” Senator Sherwin Gatchalian asked Shiela Guo, to which she replied affirmatively.
During the hearing of the Sub-Committee on Justice and Human Rights, Shiela Guo also stated that Jian Zhong Guo and Wen Yi Lin, Alice Guo’s parents, are not her biological parents.
Guo declined to reveal the identities of her biological parents, citing ongoing legal cases against her.
Shiela admitted that she is a Chinese citizen who arrived in the Philippines at the age of 16 or 17 to work in an embroidery business at the request of Alice Guo's father.
"Sabi kasi ni Daddy, tulungan ko daw siya ng business niya," Shiela Guo said.
She then admitted that her foster father had provided her with a passport stating that she can use it for their travels.
During the same sub-committee hearing, Shiela Guo revealed that they had left the country by boat.
Previously, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed through comparative fingerprint analysis that Shiela Guo is a Chinese national named Zhang Mier.
The name Zhang Mier was revealed from the Chinese passport seized from Shiela Guo when Indonesian immigration authorities arrested her and Cassandra Ong on August 20.
