The Office of the Solicitor General filed a quo warranto petition against suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo on Monday.
Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra reported that the case was filed in Manila Regional Trial Court this morning to oust Guo from mayoralty post.
In the 44-page petition of OSG, it was indicated that Guo is unlawfully holding the position and illegally exercising the duties and responsibilities of the office of the mayor of the municipality of Bamban.
Her questionable nationality was also pointed out in the petition stating that she is a Chinese national thus making her ineligible to run for any elective public office.
Last on the grounds laid out by the SolGen is that Guo committed acts which constitute a ground for the forfeiture of her office by provision of law. Specifically, she committed serious dishonesty.
Her nationality was first brought up in a senate committee hearing for Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed that the fingerprint of Guo and a Chinese national named Guo Hua Ping is one and the same.
