Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Deputy Director General Aniceto Bertiz III on Monday said the agency is targeting 1.8 million enrollees for its various training courses and programs for 2023.

Bertiz said that there were about 1.2 million trainees who graduated last year and 84.72 percent of them were hired or had a better livelihood.

In a public briefing, he said that almost nine out of 10 graduates got their certification in various sectors such as agriculture, construction, health care, and tourism, among others.

Moreover, Bertiz said that they are already coordinating with the industries through the enterprise-based program, including the stakeholders, industry, and national government agencies in developing the courses so we could determine the demand.

Meanwhile, TESDA is also conducting a series of collaborations and talks with other countries, such as Hungary, Korea, Japan, and the Middle East to have mutual recognition of training and certification.

He added that the agency offers various courses which are related to information and communications technology and partners with the information technology and business process management sector.

Other programs that TESDA offers are modern digital agriculture, cybersecurity, web development, and language courses.
