Over 30 families were displaced in a fire that broke out on Pilapil St. in Tondo, Manila, on the night of Christmas Day, December 25.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Manila, the fire started in a residential area past 9:00 PM and was immediately raised to the first alarm.
In an exclusive interview with RH Boy Gonzales, one of the fire victims shared that the fire allegedly began in their neighbor's house and eventually engulfed the entire five-story building they reside in.
She further stated that they had no choice but to sleep outside the barangay hall since they lost everything in the fire.
The fire victim further alleged that the fire may have been sparked by an illegal electrical connection from their neighbor's house.
Meanwhile, there were no reports of injuries or casualties among the residents, and the fire was contained after an hour.
