Typhoon Marce decelerated as it move westward over the area east of Northern Luzon, PAGASA reported on Tuesday, November 6.
In its 8 AM weather bulletin, the weather bureau reported that Typhoon Marce was located 335 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, with maximum sustained winds of 140 km/h and gusts reaching up to 170 km/h.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 is hoisted in the following areas:
- eastern portion of Babuyan Islands
- northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan
Furthermore, TCWS No. 1 is in effect in the following areas:
- Batanes
- rest of Babuyan Islands
- rest of mainland Cagayan
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- Apayao
- Abra
- Kalinga
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- northern portion of Benguet
- Isabela
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Quirino
- northern portion of Aurora
Residents in areas under TCWS No. 2 are warned of the potential impacts of winds, which pose a minor to moderate threat to life and property.
Moreover, in areas under TCWS No. 1, the potential impacts of winds pose a minimal to minor threat to life and property.
Marce is forecast to move generally west-northwestward today as it slows down over the Philippine Sea, east of Northern Luzon.
Meanwhile, it is projected to continue gaining strength and could peak today, before making landfall or passing near the Babuyan Islands or northern Cagayan tomorrow.
The next tropical cyclone bulletin will be released at 11:00 AM today.
