The Philippines continues to dominate the 32nd Southeast Asian Games, with two more gold medals added to their impressive haul on Saturday.
Jiu-jitsu grappler Annie Ramirez secured her third gold medal in the competition, submitting Vietnam’s Thi Thuong Le via knee bar to win the women’s ne-waza nogi -57kg category.
Ramirez had previously won gold in the 2019 edition of the SEA Games in Manila, making her one of the country's most successful athletes in the sport.
Meanwhile, the Philippine aquathlon mixed team relay composed of Matthew Hermosa, Kira Ellis, Erica Burgos, and Inaki Lorbes claimed the country’s seventh gold medal in the biennial meet after finishing with a time of 01:09:56 at Kep Town Beach in Cambodia. Indonesia's team finished second, while Vietnam settled for bronze.
With their latest victories, the Philippines now has a total of 7 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals.
