A commercial plane operated by Viet-Jet Air, en route from South Korea to Vietnam, was forced to make an unexpected landing at Laoag International Airport at approximately 5:11 AM on Wednesday.

According to Eric Apolonio, spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the pilot informed the airport tower of a technical problem encountered during the flight, necessitating the emergency landing in Laoag.

No engine failure or other emergency situations were mentioned in relation to the incident.

The aircraft, carrying 207 passengers and 7 crew members, landed safely and all individuals on board are reported to be in good condition.

In response, the CAAP and airport authorities prepared meals for the passengers and crew of the aircraft.

A recovery flight is expected to arrive at 2:30 PM to transport the passengers to their original destination, while the grounded plane awaits clearance.
