President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has appointed Vigor Mendoza II, a former board member of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), as the new chief of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Mendoza's name was included in the list of new appointees posted by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Wednesday, July 19.

He will be succeeding former LTO Chief Jose Arturo "J-Art" Tugade who tendered his resignation in May, citing a difference with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) as the reason.

Mendoza is the concurrent chairman of the transportation group United Transport Koalisyon (UTAK).

The newly-appointed LTO chief also ventured into teaching, as he was a former professor at De La Salle University (DLSU).

Aside from Mendoza, Marcos named Philippe Lhuillier as PH Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Spain.

The President also tapped several directors in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Department of Energy (DOE).
