A staff member of Vice President Sara Duterte was rushed to the hospital on Monday night after falling ill during a House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability inquiry into the Vice President's 2022 confidential funds.
According to a report by RH Milky Rigonan, Gina Acosta, the special disbursing officer of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), was taken to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) at 6:38 p.m., as confirmed by a statement from the OVP Legal Office.

House Medical Director Luis Bautista described the situation as an "emergency."
Following the incident, Vice President Duterte left the hearing to check on Acosta's condition.
House Deputy Speaker Jay-jay Suarez later reported that Acosta’s blood pressure had risen to 150/100.
During the hearing, Acosta was questioned by Rep. Gerville Luistro about her knowledge of the signatories on receipts used to justify the disbursement of ₱125 million in confidential funds.
She then revealed that the entire amount had been turned over to "Colonel Lachica," the head of the Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group (VPSPG), despite her role as the disbursing auditor.
