The Department of Health (DOH) reported that the country recorded a total of 2,747 new COVID-19 cases between June 26 and July 2.
This averages to approximately 392 infections per day, indicating a 20% decline compared to the previous week.
Currently, there are 442 individuals classified as severe or critical cases being treated in hospitals, accounting for 10.8% of all COVID-19 admissions nationwide.
During the same period, the DOH confirmed two deaths related to COVID-19. However, it was noted that these fatalities occurred prior to June 19 to July 2.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has reported over 4.16 million confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Out of these, more than 4.09 million individuals have recovered, while the death toll stands at approximately 66,000.
The number of active cases currently stands at 6,846.
In terms of vaccination progress, the country has administered COVID-19 vaccines to approximately 79 million people, covering the entire target population. Additionally, around 24 million individuals have received booster shots.
