A total of 137 people are reported dead while 28 remain missing due to Tropical Storm Agaton, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Friday.

In NDRRMC's latest situational report, majority of the reported casualties and missing persons are in Eastern Visayas with 128 dead and 27 still missing.

Meanwhile, six casualties were reported in Western Visayas, while three are reported in Davao Region, along with one more missing person.

Eight people are reported injured due to Agaton, according to the NDDRMC, including four in SOCCSKSARGEN, two in Northern Mindanao, and one each in Davao Region and Central Visayas.

Overall, Tropical Storm Agaton affected 494,607 families or over 1.6 million individuals from 2,068 barangays across nine regions.

The tropical storm also damaged a total of 9,622 homes, with 9,052 partially damaged and 570 totally damaged.

Overall, 323,306 people have been displaced because of Agaton, while 1,033 remain evacuation centers.

Damage to agriculture, infrastructure

The NDRRMC said damage to infrastructure amounted to an estimated P6.95 million, with 43 infrastructures damaged by Agaton.

Damage to agriculture was estimated at more than P186.6 million, with a total of 6,439.99 hectares of crop area affected and 256 livestock/poultry affected.

Tropical Storm Agaton weakened into a low pressure area on Tuesday night, before completely dissipating on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
