Typhoon Betty has affected more than 14,900 individuals across six regions, according to the latest report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Central Luzon, Western Visayas, MIMAROPA, Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon have experienced the brunt of the storm.

In particular, the town of Hinoba-an in Negros Occidental recorded 3,900 individuals affected by the typhoon, while Dingalan in Aurora reported 5,300 affected residents. In Maconacon, Isabela, 1,200 individuals have also been affected.

Nearly 6,000 residents were preemptively evacuated to ensure their safety before the typhoon made landfall.

Meanwhile, in Negros Occidental, the NDRRMC reported a tornado in the municipality of Hinigaran, causing a collapse of a restaurant and flooding in certain areas of Saravia town.

In another incident, a tree fell on the national road in Burgos, La Union, although there were no casualties or injuries reported.

Five houses were damaged in Pangasinan, Aurora, and Apayao, while the electric posts in Sablan and Baguio City were affected, leading to power outages in 14 areas.

The NDRRMC continues to monitor the situation and work closely with local authorities and response teams to provide assistance to those affected by Typhoon Betty.

The agency urges residents in affected areas to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols to ensure their well-being.
