The number of individuals affected by Typhoon Betty has continued to rise across six regions.
According to the latest data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) as of 8:00 AM, more than 30,500 people have been impacted in Central Luzon, Western Visayas, MIMAROPA, Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region.
This is in addition to the nearly 6,000 residents who were preemptively evacuated or relocated.
A confirmed casualty has been reported, with a man injured after being struck by a falling tree in Batad, Banaue, Ifugao.
Furthermore, 23 houses have been damaged, while the NDRRMC has recorded 14 incidents of flooding, landslides, strong winds, fallen trees, and other infrastructure-related incidents.
For the first time since Typhoon Betty made landfall, it has caused significant damage to agriculture and fisheries, amounting to approximately ₱25,000 in losses.
Additionally, the destruction of roads and infrastructure is estimated at nearly ₱69,000.
The NDRRMC previously stated that the impact of Typhoon Betty was minimal, leading to no areas being declared under a state of calamity. However, the government's assistance to the affected individuals has reached a value of around ₱3.5 million.
The NDRRMC continues to monitor the situation closely and coordinate relief efforts to aid those affected by the typhoon.
