As the feast of the Black Nazarene starts this weekend at the Quirino Grandstand, the organizers are expecting at least one million devotees to the attend the activities, especially the "Walk of Faith."

According to Fr. Earl S. Valdez, attached priest of the Quiapo Church, they are looking forward for many people to attend the celebrations at the venue adjacent to Luneta Park.

In an interview, the Catholic priest said that they reached a total of millions in the previous years which all Masses were filled.

For three days, the image of the black Jesus Christ will be at the Quirino Grandstand starting January 7 to 9.

The first activity, the viewing and touching ("pagpupugay"), will run from January 7 to 9, replacing the traditional kissing of the image of the Black Nazarene ("pahalik").

A Mass will be held at midnight of January 8, to be presided by Fr. Rufino Sescon Jr., rector of the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, followed by the Walk of Faith procession.

The procession will begin from the Grandstand to Quiapo Church in Quezon Boulevard.

On January 9, Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula will lead the Feast Day Mass.
