Even the greatest of stories must come to an end.

After two years in the competitive scene, Blacklist International announced the disbandment of its Dota 2 team, Rivalry.

"After two years of working with Rivalry to bring Blacklist to the Dota scene, this chapter of our history is coming to a close," Blacklist International said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

The esports organization expressed gratitude to everyone, regardless of whether they 'love' or 'hate' them.

"No one can deny that Blacklist Rivalry fought hard to fulfill the mission. Whether you love us or hate us, one thing is for sure: you followed us throughout this journey. And for that, we are thankful," the organization said.

"Unfortunately, even the greatest of stories must come to an end. We are incredibly thankful for each and every player and coach that has been part of the team. Their contributions to the Blacklist culture will always remain a part of our history," they added.

With the International season coming to a close and the DOTA 2 professional landscape constantly changing, Blacklist International has decided to reevaluate their future in the scene, giving players the opportunity to explore their options.

"As of today, the redemption story is now officially over. But the mission, as always, will never end," Blacklist said in closing.

Entering the Dota 2 esports scene in November 2022, Blacklist partnered with the esports betting platform Rivalry, creating the team Blacklist Rivalry and signing a roster of talented Filipino players.

Blacklist Rivalry participated in major international events, including the Esports World Cup, finishing in 15th-16th place.
