The esports community was taken by surprise as renowned players Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna, Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo, Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario, and Edward “Edward” Dapadap announced their departure from the MPL Philippine team Blacklist International.
OhMyV33NUS broke the news via a candid social media post, revealing the decision to leave both Tier One Entertainment and Blacklist International.
“So I left Tier One Entertainment and Blacklist International because I know I would settle if I choose to stay. When it’s time to go, ma feel mo naman eh,” stated OhMyV33NUS.
The M3 World Champion and three-time MPL Philippines Champion reflected on her journey with Blacklist, expressing amazement at the achievements they reached together.
“Marami na rin kasing narating with Blacklist eh, back-to-back MPL Championships, M3 World Championship and sobrang dami nang bonggang eksena na hindi ko naimagine noon na possible pala mangyari sa buhay ko,” she added.
Before OhMyV33NUS’s announcement, Blacklist midlaner Yue had already declared his departure from the team.
“Today I am formally announcing that I am leaving Blacklist International. Thank you to Blacklist because I know I've grown there as a player. Pero this time gusto ko naman maranasan ang ibang environment at madevelop pa ang sarili ko.”
In his post, Yue thanked his team and expressed a desire to step out of his comfort zone to further develop himself.
“I want to experience things outside my comfort zone. Sobrang thank you sa lahat ng sumusuporta na Blacklist Agents simula season 11 to 13.”
Hours after Yue's announcement, two more players followed suit.
Exp laner Edward shared his thoughts on social media, stating he was ready for the next phase of his life, both personally and professionally.
“After being with them for 4 years since Season 5, it's been an amazing journey filled with unforgettable moments. Despite some thoughts of leaving in the past, the team's potential always motivated me to stay.”
Edward expressed excitement about meeting and collaborating with new people who share his goals and determination.
“Now, I'm ready for the next chapter of my life, where I can grow personally and professionally. I'm excited to collaborate with new people who share my goals and determination.”
Unlike the detailed announcements from his teammates, MPL Hall of Legend inductee and star jungler Wise kept his resignation brief, posting a simple resignation letter with the message, “BOUNCE NA KO SSOB.”
During their tenure with Blacklist, these players secured three MPL Philippines titles and were crowned World Champions at the M3 Series in 2021.
