The Department of Health (DOH) has debunked the circulating message that a DOH hospital has been put on lockdown due to a patient with COVID-19.
"This message is FALSE. No DOH hospital is currently implementing a lockdown and all DOH hospitals remain fully-operational," DOH said in an advisory posted on Thursday.
DOH reminded the public to be vigilant when sharing information, adding that health news and information will only come from official DOH platforms.
In a separate advisory, the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) said that the text message saying that their hospital is on lockdown due to the coronavirus is untrue.
"Nais po naming ipaalam na walang katotohanan ang mga text message brigade at tsismis na nagsasabing may lockdown sa East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) dahil sa Coronavirus," the hospital said.
EAMC said service to its patients will not ease.
"Hanggang ngayon po, patuloy na nagbibigay ng serbisyo ang EAMC sa mga pasyente sa Outpatient Department (OPD), mga ward, at Emergency Room Department," it said.
EAMC also reminded everyone to be vigilant when sharing information to avoid confusion and public concern.
