The chief of the Lambayong Municipal Police Station, PMaj Jenahmeel Toñacao, and seven other police officers face charges for the death of three men last December in Sultan Kudarat.
The charges include murder, planting of evidence, and falsification of documents.
Police claimed that Samanudin Ali, 19 years old; Horton Ansa Jr., 20 years old; and Arsad Ansa, 18 years old, died during a shootout after the three sped off from a checkpoint.
However, Atty. Ronald Torres said on Monday, March 13, that the evidence belie the statements of the police, and that the law enforcers shot the three in close-range.
