The mother of the Grade 5 student who allegedly slapped by his teacher is still doubtful with the result of the Philippine National Police's (PNP) autopsy report on her son.
Based on the autopsy and histopathological examination results conducted by the PNP Forensic Group, Francis Gumikib, 14, died due to a rare condition such as hemorrhage and swelling of the brain. The rupture of the blood vessel in the brain of the student was said to be “non-traumatic in nature.”
Interviewed by RH Edniel Parrosa during DZRH Damdaming Bayan, the victim's mother Elena Gumikib said that they are considering having second opinions.
The mother said that they also sought help from Iglesia ni Kristo to assist them regarding the autopsy.
"Simula lang naman nung nasampal siya ng teacher, niya doon po nagkaroon ng mga nararamdaman ang anak ko," Elena said.

When asked if her son showed symptoms of the said condition that caused its death, she said that if the condition was said to be inborn, it should have presented any symptoms.
Elena said she is considering a second opinion as she is still confused about what really caused her son's death.
Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte earlier visited the wake of Francis prior to the autopsy result.
The family is waiting for the response of DepEd, as Duterte promised to help them achieve justice.
Earlier, during the Dos Por Dos interview, Antipolo Chief of Police P/Col. Ryan Manongdo said that the teacher, who slapped the student will be charged with a violation of Section 10 of RA 7610 instead of homicide.
