A fire broke out at the storage area behind Mary Chiles Hospital in Gastambide Street, Sampaloc, Manila, on Tuesday morning, October 22.
According to the report of RH Boy Gonzales, the hospital building itself was not affected by the blaze.
The fire started at around 6:51 a.m. and was raised to the second alarm within 10 minutes.
Around 20 fire trucks quickly responded, allowing firefighters to extinguish the flames by 7:20 a.m.
Due to the thick smoke, hospital patients were temporarily evacuated but were later allowed back inside once the situation was under control.
No injuries were reported.
Senior Inspector Alejandro Ramos, chief of the Manila Bureau of Fire Protection's arson unit, said they are investigating the cause of the fire as well as assessing the damage to property.
