A fire hit a residential area in Brgy. 598 Sta. Mesa, Manila, on Wednesday, February. 21, Boy Gonzales reported.

Based on the report, the fire started at 9:51 in the morning and occurred at Damka St., Brgy. 598 at the back of SM Sta. Mesa, Manila.
Minutes after the fire started, the fire quickly reached the third alarm.
Houses were said to be made out of concrete and light materials, which challenged the Bureau of Fire Protection to extinguish the fire.
At 11:44, it was declared fire out.

The chairman of the barangay said at least 100 residential houses burned.
Three hundred families were brought to the evacuation center.
Meanwhile, one resident reported a missing relative, which BFP is currently verifying.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
