Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation Larry Gadon sees his disbarment as an attempt to embarass him and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Gadon questioned the decision of the Supreme Court to publicize his disbarment after Malacanang announced his appointment as Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation.

He said on Thursday, June 29, that, normally, the high tribunal will not announce the disabarment of a lawyer since that person could still file a motion for reconsideration, or reapply to practice law.

"Hindi naman dapat iyan i-announce ng Supreme Court kasi hindi naman iyan final and executory," Gadon said during DZRH's Damdaming Bayan.

"Ang nasa rules of court kasi dapat iyan, it should be treated as a private matter, and then padadalhan pa lang dapat ako ng notice, and then, after the notice, I will be given 15 days to file a motion for reconsideration," he added.

The former lawyer believes that his disbarment stemmed from the impeachment complaints that he filed against then-Supreme Court Chief Justic Maria Lourdes Sereno, which led to her ouster, as well as against Associate Justice Marvic Leonen.

"Yung mga skirmish na iyan might have also led to this kind of embarassment situation," Gadon said.

Gadon also questioned the lack of action by the Supreme Court to disbar other lawyers, particularly former senator Leila De Lima, and Atty. Chel Diokno, for their actions.

"Yung ibang abogado ng mga militante na minumura si (Former First Lady) Imelda Marcos, (Late President) Ferdinand Marcos Sr., (Vice President) Sara Duterte, si President (Rodrigo) Duterte, bakit hindi nila i-disbar yung mga iyon," Gadon stressed.

Gadon said that De Lima should face disbarment for having an illicit relationship with her driver, and for defying a temporary restraining order that allowed former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to seek medical treatment abroad.

"Paano sila Chel Diokno? Paano sila De Lima? Hindi ba mas mabigat ang kasalanan sa akin," Gadon stressed.

In a decision released on Wednesday, June 28, the Supreme Court voted unanimously, 15-0, to disbar Gadon over a video clip that showed him repeatedly cursing, and uttering profane words against reporter Raisa Robles.

The Supreme Court mentioned that the tribunal previously slapped a three-month suspension against Gadon for using offensive and intemperate language.

The high tribunal also cited Gadon in contempt for his 'baseless allegations of partiality and bias' against Associate Justice Leonen, and Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa.

Executive Sec. Lucas Bersamin already said that Gadon will remain as Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation even following his disbarment.
