Tropical Cyclone Hanna, also known as Haikui, is currently moving westward towards the sea east of Taiwan.

In the latest forecast of PAGASA, as of 4:00 AM, Hanna's center is approximately 520 kilometers east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, with sustained winds of 120 km/h and gusts up to 150 km/h.

TCWS No.1 is in effect for Batanes, indicating strong winds with minimal to minor threats.

Batanes is expected to experience heavy rainfall, especially in mountainous areas, which may lead to flooding and landslides.

Meanwhile, the enhanced Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, influenced by Hanna and other cyclones, will bring rains to western Luzon.

Hanna is forecasted to make landfall along the east coast of southern Taiwan between late Sunday and early Monday, weakening considerably.

It will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility as a severe tropical storm or a minimal typhoon.

Authorities advise taking necessary measures to safeguard life and property, especially in highly susceptible areas.
