Despite being kept on the bench for two consecutive games in the NBA Summer League 2023, Kai Sotto, the Filipino towering 7-foot-3 basketball prodigy, maintains a positive outlook and continues to prepare himself for the moment he steps onto the court.
"Right now I just focus on the Summer League, that's what everybody has been telling me, just focus on this," Kai shared during an interview.
Sotto, a member of the Orlando Magic team, has faced a series of defeats, experiencing setbacks against the Indiana Pacers with a score of 108-86 and the Detroit Pistons with a score of 89-78.
"I'm a a professional, I just focus on things that I can control. Obviously, I can control myself, my emotions, I just gotta stay ready," said the player, acknowledging his professionalism.
"As a professional, you don't get the chance to play every game, so, you gotta stay ready [and] keep that positive mindset, positive attitude," he expressed.
The long-awaited debut of Sotto in the Summer Leaguer court may take place in the upcoming preseason league game between the Orlando Magic and the New York Knicks, scheduled for Thursday, July 13.
