A total of 143 PRC volunteers from the Albay Chapter have been deployed to monitor the lahar flow and assist affected residents.
Despite the lahar flow, no casualties or evacuations were reported. However, some roads in the area became impassable due to the mud and debris.
Red Cross volunteers on the ground confirmed that although the situation was challenging, the affected families remained in their homes, and no immediate evacuation was required.
Clearing operations have begun and are expected to last two to three days, though they may be extended if heavy rainfall continues.
Local government units and response teams remain on high alert, closely monitoring the weather conditions to ensure the safety of residents.
Mayon Volcano, known for its periodic activity, poses a risk of lahars during heavy rains, particularly during storm conditions.
