Makati City Mayor Abby Binay on Monday said she is extremely worried over the fate of the 300,000 residents who will be relocated to Taguig in adherance to the Supreme Court's (SC) ruling.

In a video statement posted on Makati City government's official Facebook page, Binay said she was saddened that the higher court turned down their petition to reverse the decision regarding the Taguig-Makati land dispute.

The Makati Mayor turned emotional when she mentioned that she is worried about the future of the student scholars and indigents who will no longer receive benefits and service from the Makati local government.

Binay expressed her doubt that the Taguig government will sustain the needs of Makatizens.

Binay then vowed that she will ensure that the help for the affected residents continues.

Earlier, the SC denied Makati City's appeal for second motion for reconsideration (MR) that sought to challenge the ruling that the BGC Complex is under the jurisdiction of Taguig City.
