Typhoon Marce has maintained its strength as it moves northwest over the Philippine Sea, according to PAGASA early Tuesday, November 6.
In its latest forecast issued at 5 a.m., PAGASA reported that the eye of Marce was located approximately 345 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, with maximum sustained winds of 140 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 170 km/h, moving northwest at 15 km/h.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 is currently in effect for the following areas:
- The eastern portion of Babuyan islands (Camiguin Is., Babuyan Is.,)
- the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gonzaga, Lal-Lo, Santa Teresita, Buguey)
Meanwhile, TCWS No. 1 is raised over:
- Batanes
- the rest of Cagayan
- Babuyan Islands
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- Apayao
- Abra
- Kalinga
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- the northern portion of Benguet (Mankayan, Buguias, Kabayan, Bakun, Kibungan, Atok, Bokod)
- Isabela
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Quirino
- The northern portion of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Baler, Maria Aurora)
The state weather bureau warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone.
"Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction," PAGASA said.

Marce is forecast to move generally west-northwestward today as it decelerates over the Philippine Sea east of Northern Luzon. It is expected to turn westward tomorrow (November 7) as it approaches the Babuyan Islands and northern Cagayan.
According to the forecast track, Marce may make landfall or pass close to the Babuyan Islands or northern mainland Cagayan between Thursday afternoon and early Friday morning (November 8).
Marce may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Friday evening.
The typhoon is expected to continue intensifying and may reach peak intensity today before it makes landfall or passes close to the Babuyan Islands or northern Cagayan tomorrow.
