The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) on Tuesday announced possible one-hour rotating power interruptions in the afternoon in some barangays in Metro Manila and five other areas.
In an advisory, Meralco said the one-hour rotating power interruptions or manual load dropping (MLD) will occur between 2 PM and 4 PM.

The said interruption was announced after the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines raised red and yellow alerts in the Luzon grid and yellow alert in the Visayas grid due to shutdown of several power plants.
The electric power distribution company estimated that 660,000 service accounts would be affected by its one-hour MLD.
As per Meralco, some barangays in the following areas would be likely affected between 2:01 PM to 3 PM.
- Bulacan – Angat, Bustos, Malolos City, Norzagaray, Pandi, San Jose del Monte City, Santa Maria
- Laguna – Calauan, San Pablo City
- Metro Manila – Caloocan City, Manila, Pasay City, Pasig City, Quezon City, Taguig City
- Quezon Province – Candelaria, Mauban, Sampaloc, Tayabas City
Some barangays in the areas below would be likely affected between 3:01 PM and 4 PM:
- Batangas – Batangas City
- Bulacan – Malolos City, Plaridel, San Jose del Monte CIty, San Rafael, Santa Maria
- Cavite – Amadeo, Gen. Trias City, Imus City, Kawit, Naic, Noveleta, Silang, Tagaytay City, Tanza, Trece Martirez City
- Laguna – Liliw, Luisiana, Majayjay, Nagcarlan, Pila, Sta. Cruz
- Metro Manila – Caloocan City, Makati City, Marikina City, Parañaque City, San Juan City, Valenzuela City
- Quezon Province – Candelaria, Lucban, Lucena City, Sampaloc, Sariaya, Tayabas City
- Rizal Province – Angono, Antipolo City, Baras, Cainta, Cardona, Morong, San Mateo, Tanay, Teresa
