The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is currently studying the possible penalties against violators using the EDSA bus lane in the evening, MMDA Chairman Don Artes said on Thursday, Dec. 14.
In an exclusive interview with DZRH Dos Por Dos, Artes said that it is dangerous for the traffic enforcers to be deployed in the evening as fast vehicles are passing.
Through closed-circuit television (CCTV), Artes said that the violators would be captured and could be reported to the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
Artes said instead of traffic laws, the LTO will focus more on license and registration penalties due to the existing temporary restraining orders (TRO) on the Contact Apprehension policy.
