The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) welcomed the appointment of Carlo Dimayuga III as its new acting chairman following his appointment on Monday.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. signed Dimayuga’s appointment last August 1. He took his oath of office before Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez on Wednesday.
In a statement, MMDA Flood Control and Sewerage Management Office Director Baltazar Melgar, who was previously the MMDA’s officer-in-charge, welcomed Dimayuga and took note of his previous achievements that would foretell his performance as chief of the MMDA.
"The agency believes that with his instinctive understanding of operations and managerial perspective, he can steer MMDA towards delivering better basic services to the public," Melgar said.
Dimayuga passed the Civil Engineer Licensure Examination in 1997 after receiving his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Sto. Tomas.
He also finished both his secondary and primary education at Lourdes School Quezon City on 1987 and 1991.
Dimayuga will be replacing Attorney Romando Artes who was appointed by then President Rodrigo Duterte last March.
