The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) started halting tricycles and electric-powered bikes and trikes on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on Wednesday, April 17.

According to Val Gonzales' report during Dos Por Dos, more than 30 vehicles had already received traffic violation tickets as of 7 a.m.
The MMDA was stationed on both sides of Commonwealth Avenue as they began on the road from Eastbound to Fairview to Westbound.
Among the reported vehicles that were intercepted was a "kulong-kulong" tricycle driven by an unlicensed 18-year-old boy. His tricycle is set to be impounded.

A senior citizen using an e-bike was also intercepted, as her vehicle is now prohibited from using the major road.

According to the violators, they have no idea that the ban will begin today.
Under the MMDA Regulation 24-022, e-bikes, e-trikes, tricycles, pedicabs, pushcarts, and kuligligs are prohibited from traversing national roads, circumferential roads, and radial roads in Metro Manila.
