Motorists must brace themselves as heavy traffic flow will be experienced on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) due to the FIBA World Cup opening, slated on Friday, August 5 at the Philippine Arena.

NLEX Corporation said it will deploy more than 200 traffic personnel and incident response teams within Ciudad de Victoria and in strategic areas throughout the expressway.

NLEX Corp. advised motorists to allocate more time if it is unavoidable to travel on such a day.

In addition, motorists can also take alternative routes or exit at Marilao, Bocaue, or Tambubong to avoid heavy traffic.

The management will also put up directional road signage to guide motorists who are going to the Philippine Arena.

Moreover, there will also be free P2P shuttle services to and from the venue from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pick-up and drop-off points are as follows:

  • PITX Bus Terminal
  • Mall of Asia Arena
  • One Ayala Bus Terminal
  • BGC Market Bus Terminal
  • SM Megamall
  • Araneta City
  • Trinoma
  • SM North
  • Clover Leaf, Ayala Mall Bus Terminal
  • SM Baliuag
  • SM Pampanga
  • SM Clark

The P2P buses will start returning to the various drop-off points after the Gilas Pilipinas game against the Dominican Republic.

To speed up the trip and avoid trouble, NLEX also reminded viewers that the Ciudad de Victoria Toll Plazas are 100% RFID.

Because of this, motorists are encouraged to wear an Easytrip RFID and make sure they have enough load before traveling.
