The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) will donate the proceeds of Game One of the 2024 PBA Governors Cup Finals to families affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
PBA vice-chairperson Alfrancis Chua made the announcement on Thursday, October 24, during a press conference.
"If you can see kung ano ang nangyayari sa bansa natin, mga kapatid natin na nasalanta. Nag-usap kami ni (PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial), (PBA Chairperson Ricky Vargas), we decided na yung Sunday's game, yung proceeds lahat i-donate namin," Chua said.
"Nandito tayo preparing for Sunday's game and them, they are there preparing kung may matitirahan sila o makakain pa," he added.
The TNT Tropang Giga and Brgy. Ginebra face off in the best-of-seven title series .
Both basketball teams will seek to draw first blood on Game One on Sunday, October 27, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo, Rizal.
