Filipino athletes are waving the Philippine flag once again!
The national squad was able to bag several medals at this year's Asian Kickboxing Championships held in Cambodia.
Jovan Medallo secured double gold medals in the musical forms categories, winning for both weapon and open hand at the tournament. He also earned a bronze medal for his creative form with a weapon.
In her first appearance at the Asian Kickboxing Championship forms competition, Janah Lavador earned three bronze medals. She secured third place in the Musical Forms with weapon, Musical Forms without weapon, and creative form with weapon categories.
Meanwhile, Olympian Hergie Bacyadan secured the gold medal with an abandonment victory in the K1 -70 kg match against China. Bacyadan represented the Philippines in boxing at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Renalyn Dacquel, Lance Airon Villamer, and Daryl Chulipas each earned bronze medals in their respective categories: low kick, point fighting, and full contact.
