The Taguig Stallions continue to dominate in professional billiards, securing a decisive victory against the MSW Mavericks in Week 4 of the inaugural 9-ball series of the Sharks Billiards Association (SBA).
Despite a setback on Day 1 in the King of the Hill 5v5 match, where the Mavericks, led by Baseth ‘Kingpin’ Mocaibat, took the lead, the Stallions rebounded strongly. They made a comeback in Game 2 of the Sharks Doubles, with impressive performances by Rodrigo ‘Edgie’ Geronimo and Demosthenes ‘Plong-Plong’ Pulpul.
The Mavericks managed another win on Day 3 with Jonas ‘Silent Killer’ Magpantay in the 1 on 1 match.
However, the Stallions regained momentum in the Sharks Doubles and King of the Hill matches on Day 4 and 5, ultimately leading the series with an overall score of 15-8.
Geronimo’s outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Week title. He delivered three break and run wins, achieved a 41 percent break success rate, and won 26 racks, resulting in an impressive 86 percent overall rating.
Starting October 14, the SBA matches have a new schedule. They will now be broadcast live from Monday to Friday, instead of the previous Wednesday to Sunday.
