Negros Occidental Pillars made a strong comeback, dominating the Quezon City Dragons in Game 3 of the Season 1 series of the Sharks Billiards Association (SBA).
Having previously suffered a defeat against the MSW Mavericks in Game 2, the Pillars, spearheaded by captain Oliver Villafuerte, showcased their resilience and determination.
Villafuerte, often referred to as 'Batman,' led the team with an impressive performance, earning him the title of Player of the Week. His achievements included three break-and-runs, a 59 percent break success rate, two golden breaks, and an overall rating of 91 percent.
On the first day of the showdown, the Pillars seized the opportunity and secured a win in the 5v5 King of the Hill format.
However, on Day 2, the Quezon City Dragons bounced back, scoring a point in the Sharks Double event thanks to the dynamic duo of Jerico Bañares and Dean Mark Castronuevo.
The momentum shifted back to the Pillars on the following day when Jolo Aspuria clinched the second victory for the team in a 1-on-1 match.
The team's momentum continued into Day 4 with an excellent performance in the Sharks Double event by Albert Espinola and Jonald Galve, helping the Pillars recover.
Despite Quezon City's efforts to turn the tide in the King of the Hill event on Day 5, the Pillars maintained their lead, ending the series with a 13-10 advantage.
Fans can look forward to more exciting matchups in Game 4 of the Sharks Billiards Association Season 1, scheduled to take place from October 9 to October 13.
